Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia and results in the impairment of one's memory, thinking, and behavior. This severely affects a person's work, lifelong hobbies and their social life and worsens over time. Even though there is no known cure, there are treatments available for a victim's symptoms, thus making their life better . It generally affects people over the age of 65, but can still affect teenagers and adults. Alzheimer's disease was first discovered by a German physician named Alois Alzheimer's in 1906 and it was named after him. Alzheimer's usually takes place when changes occur in the brain's nerve cells and this causes damage to the neurons to progress. It eventually leads the brain to slowly self-destruct.
