Mosquito Carried Diseases By Dylan Atkin

The mosquito is the deadliest animal to humans in the world. Over two million people die every year due to the diseases mosquitoes carry. In comparison, the 2nd most dangerous animal, the snake, in comparison kills only around 100,000 people per year. Out of the diseases mosquitoes carry, the deadliest and most common of these include Malaria, Dengue Fever, West Nile Virus and Yellow fever. Its hard to believe that mosquito related diseases are the cause of 25% of under-5 fatalities in Africa and that around 8% of fatalities due to disease in the world are due to malaria.
